UnNeighbourly Beeb

The BBC is waving farewell to Aussie soap Neighbours after the producers jacked up the asking price. The show will be screened elsewhere in the UK, but is this the beginning of the end? There's more here, where I also ask: Is Eddie McGuire worth it?

Points to ponder

+ Nicole tummy alert
+ Peter Andre: still not dead
+ Sly's drug supply
+ Keith Urban: Back in Brisbane
+ Wendell Sailor: Mummy's boy
+ Lisa Wilkinson: Flavour of Today

Who's that with Bert?

Here's a picture of me and Bert Newton's bust carrying the hair one lucky Channel 9 viewer is going to win. (Read about it here/) And here's what Dame Edna had to say about my Target 25 blog:

Marvel-lous parody

If you're a fan of superhero comics, and you're aware of those Apple Mac v Windows Vista TV adds, you'll probably enjoy this parody, Hi, I'm a Marvel...and I'm a DC.

RIP Boris Pickett

Bobby "Boris" Pickett, the co-writer and singer of novelty hit The Monster Mash, has died at the age of 69. Here's a clip one YouTube user has created using Pickett's song and some B-grade horror film footage:

Frank Woodley: not quite solo

Frank Woodley's first live gig after last year's long farewell tour with Colin Lane sees him team up with not one but two partners in mirth. Keith Adams and Damian Callinan are Woodley's co-stars in The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged), now playing at Brisbane's Cremorne Theatre. Here's a picture I took of Callinan and Woodley at the opening-night drinks last night. There's more news about the show on the blog and at debritz.net.

Adam Hills (almost) live

The Sunday Mail this weekend features an interview with standup comic and Logies host Adam Hills, whose Joymonger show is playing at the Melbourne Comedy Festival before touring. In this audio outtake, Hills tells me how he came to accept the offer to host the ABC's Spicks and Specks program:
