Sun Park has become the third Hi-5er to leave the children's group following the departures of orignal members Nathan Foley and Kellie Crawford. Now, I suppose, parents of hardcore fans will have to go out and buy an entirely new range of merchandise. Maybe that was the idea all along ... More here.
I would hate to be Eveready
I would hate to be Eveready batteries right now. I have been seeing ads in stores, (with a picture of Hi-5 most likely taken last Christmas) used for a competition, Win Christmas with Hi-5 at http://www.evereadypromotions.com.au/index.html (Former members in italics) with Charli, Nathan, Stevie, Sun and Kelli.
I wonder Brett, if the contest winner has any legal leg to stand on, when they recieve their prize from, a completely different HI-5 "five" than advertised?

Or will they Brett? Charli's replacement has not even made her television debut, as the most recent season was made before Charli left, i.e when that Eveready picture was taken.

20. The Major Prize consists of:
(i) 1 return economy flight for 2 adults and 2 children from the Major Prize Winner's nearest State or Territory capital city to Sydney;
(ii) 1 night quad share accommodation for 2 adults and 2 children at a 4 star hotel in Sydney to be selected by the Promoter ("Accommodation");
(iii) return transfers for 2 adults and 2 children from Sydney airport to the Accommodation;
(iv) return transfers for 2 adults and 2 children from Accommodation to Hi-5 recording studios;

22. The Major Prize has been arranged by the Promoter to coincide with the filming schedule of a Hi-5 television show. The commencement date of the Major Prize is to be determined by the Promoter. The Major Prize must be taken on the dates specified by the Promoter, which will be no later than 31 March 2009.
I will not be surprised if the "Major Prize" will be changed as per condition 35,
"The Major Prize (and each part of the Major Prize) is subject to booking and availability at the time of booking. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for the cancellation or rescheduling of flights. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the Major Prize with a prize of equal or greater value (including where the Major Prize is unavailable), subject to approval of the gaming authorities in each State and Territory where relevant." ,
between now and the major prize draw on January 5.
If this contest issue comes out, HI-5's problems may have just begun. That one kid's reaction to "HI-5" (i.e the unadvertised group, with the four new members) will be the spark that sends more kiddies to The Wiggles and their new program for Nine, The Kingdom of Paramithi (which I love watching by the way Brett, shh don't tell)...
