Another serving of Felafel

He Died with A Felafel in his Hand is making a comeback - but not to La Boite, where the comedy based on John Birmingham's novel has had two hilarious seasons. Instead, it will be at the Brisbane Arts Theatre, which has been facing something of a financial crisis in recent times. The idea is to try to attract a younger audience. It runs from March 27 to May 2. Details are, or will be, here.

Thanks for mentioning
Thanks for mentioning "Felafel" and the Brisbane Arts Theatre!
Like many theatres, the Arts has had its share of rough times recently. It receives no on-going government funding, and survives on memberships, box office and hires.
The theatre is 73 years old in 2009, making it the longest-running community theatre in Brisbane. It's in a fairly historic part of the city on Petrie Terrace, and is one of the last (if not the last) inner-city theatres you can go to for regular quality children's theatre at incredibly cheap prices ($12 per show). It's really important it survive, because of the role it plays in the community - providing shows for seniors, training children and young people, the list goes on.
I'm talking it up because I'm a passionate member and will be directing "Felafel". It's going to be very exciting - the playwrights are even updating the script for us!
Cheers, Natalie.

Hi Anonymous!
Girl Clumsy is my internet moniker; while I don't go around shouting my identity from the rooftops, I don't keep it a state secret, and most people who know me know the connection.
I hope, Anonymous, that you might consider coming along to a performance of "Felafel" come March/April and introduce yourself - considering you're the one with the more closely-guarded identity! ;)
