Golly, Molly, leave it alone

You can never go back. Unless you're Molly Meldrum and you want to squeeze some more mileage out of the Countdown franchise. The show will return for one night only to launch a new cable music, 111 Hits.

Terrific ! Too much

Terrific ! Too much "COUNTDOWN" is barely enough. I always enjoy the mini-specials that are played on Vh1 each night.

I think that the 111 special will give pleasure to a lot of people who are hungry for a bit of nostalgia. Not only that...the music that Molly presented on the original show was far better than todays rubbish !

All this for a modern TV

All this for a modern TV classics channel Brett...

Critically acclaimed dramas and award-winning comedies such as Friends, Dharma & Greg, Will & Grace, Ally McBeal, The Wonder Years, That ‘70s Show, ER, Murphy Brown, Alf, Lost, Without a Trace and Baywatch are just some of the top-rating programs that capture the energy, fun, heart and soul of channel 111 HITS.

Alf?!! Hooray! We

Alf?!! Hooray! We recently imported the first series from overseas. Sadly the AUD's demise has delayed our ordering the remaining series.

As long as 111 comes as part of the standard package, we won't have to!

From another Foxtel press

From another Foxtel press release at http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2008/10/111-hits-will-target-24-54s.html , Spencer.
111 HITS will be part of FOXTEL’s Get Started package, enabling all subscribers to enjoy watching the most successful shows in television history.

On November 1, 2008 FOXTEL is also launching two new family-oriented channels exclusively to its subscribers - CBeebies, an ad free channel for pre-school children and BBC Knowledge which is a documentary channel. Both unique channels are from BBC Worldwide, FOXTEL’s subscription television partner in Australia. NOTE: The two new BBC channels are not on the standard package, only 111 HITS.

(Don't you fret Spencer, I am actually looking forward to Tuesday's aussiebeachut segment... "Love You Brisbane, you mean the world to me...")
