Benny's no dancing king

| ABBA songwriter Benny Andersson has revealed that he doesn't dance - except, perhaps, to the bank. Decades after the band split, ABBA still sells more than two million albums every year, and Andersson, 61, is producing a movie version of the stage musical Mamma Mia, which is almost certain to be a hit. PS: Am I the only one who is having trouble telling Benny apart from songwriting partner Bjorn Ulvaeus now that the latter has also grown a beard? |

Bjorn is the shorter one.
Bjorn is the shorter one. Also, he looks rather like an elf or the Scandinavian folkloric equivalent thereof. As a self confessed ABBA tragic, I'm busting my kneecaps to see the movie. I just hope that it remains as true as possible to the stageshow. Somehow I don't think either Bjorn or Benny would allow too much deviation from the original work. During the last season of "Mamma Mia" my wife and I went to see it four times. Cast members would see us having a coffee after the show and they'd come over for a chat, thanking us for being such ABBA tragics. When the show closed, it was akin to going through that "blue" period that many Brisbanites went through when Expo '88 ended.
If some producer happens to be reading, please bring "Mamma Mia" back to Brisbane. We loved it !
I think it will come back
Yes, I'd like to see
Yes, I'd like to see "Chicago" come back. I think that I would appreciate it more now, having seen the movie umpteen-dozen times and having near worn out the CD soundtrack of the movie. When "Chicago" played at the cinema's, my wife and I had to find seats away from other patrons so that we could applaud after each musical number without being threatened with eviction. The last time we went to Tasmania, the soundtrack was what we listened to most. In fact, most of my home video of the holiday features a Chicago song in the background !
As for "Phantom", the countdown is on ! I have not seen the stage version but have certainly nearly worn out the DVD.
